You don’t get a second chance.

Don’t wait for something big in your life to happen to realize that you need to live everyday to the full. And when I mean live everyday I really mean live it… What did you do today? Whose face did you put a smile on today, do you tell the people that are important to you that you love them and how much you love them. Is the world a better place because you are in it, or are you just here? When was the last time you saw the sunrise? You told your mother you love her?

I think we need to realize that people don’t change; someone once told me that when you have a friend use them up for what they are… And I mean this in the most sincere way, think of your friends, what you like about them and what you don’t, how often do you complain to others about the traits of those close to you? Now I ask you those little things that drive you up the wall, do they matter? No they don’t, so why let them get to you? We all have our positive and negative traits, and I challenge you to use up everyone you love for their good traits, tell them what you love about them and focus on their good, because the negative traits don’t matter you are never going to change how stubborn your father is, how irresponsible your sister is, how your best friend is always late, how he never phones back, doesn’t remember your birthday, so why let it get to you, there are things about you that those people don’t like. Accept everyone around you as they are and appreciate and use them in such a way that their good aspects are highlighted because at the end of the day what matters is the good, and what you don’t like are the things that you wont remember and wont matter in later times.

The most important thing to me in life is my family, and by that I don’t only mean those who are blood, I mean all those special people that form part of your life and who you love, to me my friends are part of my family. Those people that you know will be there no matter what they will stick by you and stand by your side with all the support you need, do they know that you will do the same for them in a heart beat? Realize who these people are in your life and cherish them because it is the people who matter that make your ride worthwhile. It doesn’t matter what you have or where you go it matters who is there, and who shares it with you.

I have come to the shocking realization that I am not living every second to the best I can, and the sad part is I had to wait for something huge to happen to realize this. Do people really know how much they mean to you? Are you as good a friend, companion, mother, daughter, father, son, sister, brother as you can possibly be? Is the mediocre fight you had really worth holding a grudge for? Why are you not sorting it out, don’t think that it will never happen to you, because you don’t realize it but your life can change in a second, right before your eyes even before you have time to realize it.

When it comes to life you don’t get a second chance, you only life once and its only up to you how full your life will be and how you can enrich the lives of others. Tell the ones you love how much they mean to you; really really live everyday like it is your last… Because you might not get another chance to say and do the things that matter to those that matter to you…
