A reindeer is only called a reindeer when in captivity, when in the wild they are called caribou. It loses its antlers once a year which are covered in fur (called velvet) these grow back quickly. Its hair is also hollow which makes it buoyant when migrating through the icy waters. To help with this its hooves are “web like” helping it to swim and run really fast on the snow!!!
