MuMmEnScHaNz...

I went to go see this show at the state theater in Pretoria last night, and when 2 giant white-gloved hands opened the curtain i did not expect 4 old citizens to be hiding behind the brilliance, not that i don't think old people can put something like this together but the flexibility behind the objects and visuals they performed were quite impressive. An amazing visual show where throughout you have no idea what is going to jump out of the dark next, from a giant beating heart elegantly floating over the stage to its own beat, the weirdest objects - all with their own personality and flair.

This is a show for anybody and everybody, what
was strange it that the only
sound throughout the
performance
it that of the audiences laughter, which i found quite different and somewhat intense. They put together an array of different strange and unexpected costumes, looking like giant pipes, pac-man type characters and strangely creative mime type outfits. With these they created a show that crosses cultural boundaries as well as that of language. They tell simple tales using amazing visual props combined with excellent lighting, and the end result is bound to keep you in your seat. This is definitely a show for young and old, the unexpected costumes and witty humor is fit for audiences of any kind. It was certainly different and certainly worth seeing.
