Is it "in" to be healthy or is it just me???

Okay so hon and I have started this 2 week detox and we now entering our second week. I have to say I am quite enjoying it and having fun trying to concur up a meal without using any cows milk products, preservatives and being limited to wholewheat pasta.

Problem is you can only be so creative when the stock in the local shops are so limited. At Pick 'n Pay the lady thought I was crazy when I asked for cheese that was not made of cow's milk and couldn't even understand the concept of goats milk. Wholewheat past is evidently also a product indigenous to homeopathic stockist.

You can get these products if you look hard enough, Dischem stock a few and of course Woolies is at the front and even has fresh goats milk but still no goat's cheese.Added to that the fact that you pay an arm and a leg if you want a healthy meal I am starting to think that eating healthy is only possible unless you have a sugar daddy.

I read somewhere the other day that 80 % of Indian people are vegetarian, if that is true where are all these vegetarian friendly shops? I cant believe that in this day and age where everyone is throwing their wine and cigarettes out the window and resorting to more healthy styles of living retailers have not yet caught on enough. Is goats cheese and rice milk to much to expect from Spar or am I just shopping at the wrong place?

I have seriously spent endless hours in shops reading the labels of everything and anything they stock. I have gotten strange looks from others with my 20 minute search party going through every cheese on the shelf and nothing…

If anyone out there can tell me where I can find all these hidden healthy products please let me know and if you see me at the McDonald's drive through tomorrow you must know that the goats milk was out of stock at Woolies.

Maybe I am just part of a small group of nutters out there that has a need to question all the processed crap we put into our bodies on a daily basis...

I think there are more health nutters like you in the UK than in SA. Take a look at Tesco and Sainsburys, they have much larger sections of the store dedicated to Organic foods than we do here in SA. Alpro do fresh soya milk that lasts for a couple weeks in the fridge (it's not the same as the long life stuff we get here).
